Maker's Club
Elementary (All grades)

Gain highly transferable skills while creating a wide variety of useful and interesting things that you can take home at the end of every project!
Maker's Club will let students make full use of our Maker Space by manufacturing with recycled and repurposed materials. Students will get an introduction to electrical engineering and learn the the science behind how the various components in our projects work.

Do you enjoy math and science? Are you interested in finding out how things work, solving problems, and creating new inventions? We are surrounded by a plethora of machines and devices every day, and knowing how they work can help us not only repair or fix them whenever something goes wrong, but also lets us figure out ways to improve them. Let's work together and start making the world of tomorrow! |
Project Examples
Circuit Piano | Pneumatic Crane | Retro Arcade Gamer |
---|---|---|
We will investigate how electrical currents work and build our own mini keyboard with push buttons and different resistors. | Build a working miniature pneumatic crane and test how powerful we can make it. | Using a Raspberry Pi, push switches, and recycled materials, build your own working arcade video game unit! |
How to work on the projects | ||
(1) Brainstorming- consider what is important to help us create the desired solution.(2) Planning- carefully choose what parts are needed, and how best to arrange them.(3) Render/Print- constructing the model carefully with any additional supports if needed.(4) Assembly- take all of the parts and put them together.(5) Feedback- discuss the final product with everyone and come up with ideas to improve the overall design. |
