Laurus × Evergreen Winter Camp in Hakuba

Laurus has teamed up with Evergreen, an outdoor tour company in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, to organize a special camp where you can enjoy snow sports.

Welcome to Evergreen

If you are interested in providing excellent experiential learning and life lasting memories for your child then you have found what you have been searching for. Evergreen Outdoor Center is a long-established, professional outdoor adventure company providing outdoor education programs for international schools, families and groups within Japan and from abroad.

With professional international guides, instructors, trainers, educators and camp leaders and a long history of providing snow-sports activities and outdoor camps for children you can rest assured that your son or daughter are being provided the very best camp experience in the safety of professionals. All campers regardless of age will have the chance to feel challenged in a fun learning environment in the beauty of Japanese Alps with native English instructors and camp Leaders.

For Kids Aged: 7 to 12 years old

Fee: 149,500 yen (5 days/4 nights, accommodation and meals included)

This camp is for children aged seven to twelve who are intrigued by learning or improve their ski or snowboard skills. It is a great way for your child to learn about snow and mountain while having a great time playing in the great mountains of Hakuba.

White Horse Snowsports Camp Activities:

Snowshoe, Ski or Snowboard Lessons, Snowman competition, Iglu building, movie night, tobogganing, campfire, pizza party

For Kids Aged: 13 to 17 years old

Fee: 149,500 yen (5 days/4 nights, accommodation and meals included)

The Japan Alps Snowsports Camp Program is offered to campers aged thirteen to seventeen and is a stand-alone leadership camp. Our 5 day Winter Leadership program will be a mix of standard camp adventures and snowsports development skills to step up and lead. The program is specifically designed to provide campers with a challenging and meaningful snowsports camp that will empower participants and unlock their potential to become leaders.

Japan Alps Snowsports Camp Activities:

Winter picnic, evening snowshoe, chocolate Fondue, ski or snowboard lessons, intro to Freeride (for advanced) or Mountain Awareness (for beginners/intermediates), winter sustainability lesson, ski resorts planning lesson, beacon transceiver geocache, and much more…

The Alps Craft Cafe

Looking after our environment is paramount, and our food plays a huge part in this. Throughout our camps we endeavour to provide our campers with nutritional, eco-sourced meals using local produce, including: vegetables, free range eggs, local Shinsyu chicken and locally grown organic goods. We always try to avoid using additives, preservatives and MSG wherever possible. We cater to food allergies, and can provide vegetarian/vegan options upon your request.

We try our upmost to support the local economy and community by using local businesses and restaurants. We also prepare meals in our own kitchen to ensure our campers’ food is fresh with minimal carbon footprint as possible.

Our base for our adventures in Hakuba Valley

Tsugaike accommodation at it’s best. The Alps View is a newly renovated hotel complex with a relaxed atmosphere, providing easy access to Hakuba Valley’s endless activities.

Optional Transportation between Shinjuku and Hakuba

To make transport between Hakuba and Tokyo easy, our team offers an optional pick up and drop off service at Shinjuku station, where your child and Evergreen Staff make the train journey together. We usually use the Limited Express Azusa train which goes directly between Shinjuku and Hakuba.

Our office staff are also on hand to make the ticket purchase and provide you with all the transportation details. Evergreen’s camp counselors will accompany campers to and from (Tokyo) Shinjuku station by train. We prefer to have reserved seats booked beside each other to keep the group together as much as possible.

Optional Lift Passes

Lift tickets are required for the winter camp program for 4 days. The purchase is optional because some campers might have season pass. Our office staff is also on hand to make the lift ticket purchase and provide you with all the details.

Selecting the correct level for your lessons

Use the following links to work out your ski or snowboard level. It’s important to be honest about your ability to ensure that you’re placed into the correct skill levels lesson for your ability.

A cancellation charge will be requested on all cancellations made 4 weeks or more before camp start date, or less before a scheduled tour/lesson/service. 4 weeks or more before: Admin fee 5,000 yen 4-2 weeks before: 30% 2 weeks or less: 100%

Please note we do not accept cancellations left on our answering machine. Office hours are 8:00 – 5:00 every day (except January 1st – closed). The Evergreen Outdoor Center reserves the right to cancel camp programs due to inclement weather, insufficient bookings or events beyond our control. In this case, alternate dates may be offered or full refunds will be made.
