Our Primary & Secondary Campus, conveniently located in Shiba, was purpose-built to offer state-of-the-art STEM facilities and a conducive learning environment for our budding innovators and entrepreneurs.

Commencement of the Cambridge IGCSE program (Upper Secondary, ages 14 - 18) will begin in the 2025-2026 academic year.

    Located on the 7th - 10th floors of the brand new Shiba Kokusai Building. The strucure was completed in 2022.

    Science is the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation and testing.

    Consistent with this idea and to facilitate learning through the exploration of science, our Primary and Secondary School / Headquarters was designed.

  • Ocean Floor - 7F

    The Ocean Floor is intended to highlight the dominance and importance of water to the planet`s biosphere. The oceans are especially important here, due to Japan`s geography, culture and reliance on it for centuries of history.

  • Planet Earth - 8F

    Learning how we can leverage the secrets of bioscience to promote human health, food production, environment and mankind future development is a huge opportunity for tomorrow.

  • Singularity - 9F

    The Singularity floor was designed to reflect the excitement of high-paced tech development in material science, IoT AI, computer science, electronics and the related digital world.

  • Ad Astra - 10F

    The 10th floor is all about space science. With increasing private funding and commercialisation in this sector, young students of today face expanding job opportunities in this sky-high-tech industry of tomorrow.

Ocean - 7F

More than 70% of the earth’s surface is covered in water, of which over 96% is present in the world`s oceans.  Undersea life and oceanic natural resources are full of remarkable diversity and potential.  The Ocean floor is intended to highlight the dominance and importance of water to the planet`s biosphere. 

  • Learning and exploring the ocean is addressed within multiple curricula, including geography (Earth Science) and Biology. Lessons will encompass the “micro” to the “macro”; from the fundamental microorganisms that transform sunlight to bioenergy and make-up the bottom of the food chain to the role that oceans play in global weather patterns. Students will be challenged with information to provoke curiosity about vocations linked to our greatest natural resource – water and the resources it hides within.

  • Some attractive species of live fish and crustacean are beautifully displayed in the 7th Floor aquariums to inspire young minds, and to illustrate the need for harmonious sustainability as we continue to harvest the abundant ocean resources. An Art Room is available for special activities. In addition, there is an Innovation lab room with high spec laptops (programming, etc.) and 3D modeling equipment & printers for more advanced projects.

Planet Earth - 8F

The Biosphere is the sum of all worldwide ecosystems where life naturally exists on this planet.  It is web of interdependencies and relationships that evolved over billions of years.  Understanding it to maintain a harmonious existence with nature is critical to the survival of humanity.  Learning how we can leverage the secrets of bioscience to promote human health, food production, environment and mankind future development is a huge opportunity for tomorrow.

  • Environmental science and bioscience are topics continuously taught throughout the academic year. Students become engaged with projects related to nature to encourage curiosity and a comfortable relationship with all forms of life.

  • The Life Library is a prominent feature of the Planet Earth floor, allowing students to observe and occasionally engage directly with plant, animal and insect life. Maintained by professionals, the miniature zoo is a favorite for children of all ages.

Singularity - 9F

The Technology Singularity is a hypothetical future point in time where technological growth, driven by artificial intelligence, becomes uncontrollable and irreversible, resulting in unforeseeable changes to human civilization.  Previously just a concept, our world seems to be close to this reality today.  The Singularity floor is designed to capture the excitement of high-paced tech development in material science, IoT (internet of things), artificial intelligence, computer science, electronics and the related digital world.

  • Principles of electricity, physics, computers, software and electronics are part of a broad teaching curriculum designed to expose students to the fundamental principles of modern machines that are used routinely in human society. This foundation of knowledge will inspire Laurus students to be innovators and engineers of tomorrow.

  • From secondary level up, each student is supplied with a MacBook Air computer for his/her general schoolwork. The Singularity floor has multiple work rooms (Art room, Innovation lab, Science room) where students have access to electronics components, soldering equipment, mechanical parts, artificial reality systems, and other equipment.

    Learning is enhanced with advanced laboratories equipped with microscopes and biotech lab equipment such as centrifuges, electrophoresis apparatus, incubators, etc. that enable experimental exploration into cell biology, microbiology, genetics and related topics.

    A dedicated high tech machine room is planned and will be staffed for constant supervision and training of students on safe use of 3D printers, presses, lathes and other “shop” equipment in the near future.

Ad Astra - 10F

Space science is the theme for the Ad Astra floor.  In the 21st century, investment in space exploration and related technologies has dramatically increased as private industry has targeted opportunities to commercialize communication, tourism, mining, disaster prediction, monitoring, exploration and other activities.  Young students of today will be made aware of expanding job opportunities in this sky-high-tech industry of tomorrow.

  • Astronomy and education about the cosmos is integrated into secondary school sciences classes for all students. Beyond that, instruction about stars, planets, deep sky objects, astrophysics, astrophotography and imaging processing techniques can be provided on special occasions; either in the classroom or under the night skies.

  • The Ad Astra Astronomy room is equipped with three telescopes, mounts and numerous accessory equipment to enable viewing and photographic imaging of the night sky. A multimedia room and other ideas are also being planned for this floor to support multipurpose applications and uses.
