How to Apply

  • Selecting a school for your child is a momentous decision, and we are committed to aiding you throughout the process.

    In-person school visits provide invaluable insight into the learning environment where your child will flourish. We hold Information Sessions regularly, in both Japanese and English. Sign up for an Information Session or inquire about private school tours.

  • Preparing the Documents

    Application forms for all year groups are available for download. Please click on the link below to download the application form you wish to access.

    Be sure to check your child’s year level eligibility and additional document requirements (see the adjacent tab ‘Useful Information’).

    Sending the Documents

    Please send your applications by registered mail or email a PDF copy. To learn more about the mailing instructions, contact the relevant location by following the links below:

    Examination Fee

    Preschool: ¥2,200 (no exams; trial lesson fee)
    Kindergarten: ¥10,000
    Primary: ¥25,000
    Secondary: ¥30,000

  • Admissions assessments are required for some grade levels (see below). Our Receptionists/ Admissions team will notify you on the timing.

    Grade Level Requirements:

    • New Preschool and Kindergarten students do not have an admissions assessment, however attending a trial lesson is required (kindergarteners have in-class assessments for English reading, writing and speaking).

    • Primary & Secondary students are assessed for their English and Math competencies.

    Results are available within one month of completing the assessment.

    Parents will be guided on next steps, including:

    • submission of final documents,

    • enrollment fees,

    • ordering uniforms and textbooks and,

    • preparation for the Entrance Ceremony.

  • Application closes as soon as it reaches enrollment capacity. Please contact us to inquire about vacancies at your preferred location.

  • Class of 2024: From time to time our schools are accepting additional applications. We invite you to contact each of the schools for more information.

    For the year 2025, we are accepting applications for new K1 (Da Vinci class) students.

  • We accept individual requests throughout the year and review applications on a case-by-case basis.

Required Documents

Additional documents may be required for submission along with the Application form, depending on the grade level. Please refer to the chart below or download the document here.

* Laurus International staff members will contact your child’s current school for the recommendation letter.

Age Eligibility

Not sure which year to enroll your child? Refer to this information below as a starting point for your application.

    • Preschool① (Newton class): From 1.5 years old

    • Preschool② (Galileo class): From 1.5 years old

    *Application is available after your child is 16 months old.

    • K1 (Da Vinci class): 3 years old as of April 1st 2025

    • K2 (Darwin class): 4 years old as of April 1st 2025

    • Year 1 (Einstein class): 5 years old as of April 1st 2025

    • Over 6 years old as of September 1st 2025

    • Lower Secondary: Over 11 years old as of September 1st 2024

    • Upper Secondary, will open in 2025 and we are accepting applications. Please contact us for further information.

Parent Language Requirements

While children will be assessed for English reading, writing and speaking during the admissions examination, parents are not required to have English-language ability. Please note that for Primary and Secondary, all written communications with the Laurus team are conducted in English.
